The SE designation is about what changed underneath. Super73 rates the updated powertrain at up to 20% more acceleration than the drivetrain it replaces, which shows up where it matters most on a heavy bike — pulling away from a light, climbing a bridge approach, merging into traffic. The 750W nominal motor keeps the bike Class 2 compliant and street legal, so the gain is in how quickly it gets to 20 mph rather than how fast it will ultimately go.

The 960Wh (48V 20Ah) pack is UL2271 compliant and centrally mounted inside the frame, which keeps the weight low and balanced rather than hanging off the rear rack. Charge time runs 6 to 7 hours from empty, so a full recharge fits inside an overnight window without any planning around it. Super73's 45 to 55 mile figure reflects throttle-only Class 2 operation — pedaling extends it meaningfully.

Most e-bikes in this price range run a front fork and a rigid rear. The R Adventure SE is adjustable at both ends, which is the difference between absorbing terrain and riding over it.
