The Power Gap

The Power Gap

Most e-bike motors produce 750W nominal and top out under 1,500W peak. The Xyber produces 3,000W peak on a single battery and 6,000W in dual configuration. That gap isn't incremental — it's a different category of machine. The torque delivery is instant and completely silent, which is part of what makes it feel unlike anything in the e-bike market.

A single 1,440Wh battery already delivers up to 56 miles of real-world range. Add the second battery and that doubles to 112 miles — the longest range of any e-bike tested by major review outlets. Each battery is centrally mounted for a balanced ride, and the modular system means you can start with a single battery and add the second later as your riding evolves.

The Dual-Battery Decision

The Dual-Battery Decision

The difference between single and dual battery isn't just range. In single-battery mode, the Xyber produces 3,000W peak and 120Nm of torque. In dual-battery mode, both figures double: 6,000W and 175Nm. If your priority is maximum performance and the longest possible range, the dual is the configuration to choose. If you're primarily riding shorter distances and want a lighter bike (138 lbs vs. 165 lbs), the single battery is still a highly capable machine. Our team at Last Mile NYC can help you work through which configuration fits your actual riding.

Security as Standard

Security as Standard

The Xyber's smart security system works on multiple layers. AirLock uses your phone's Bluetooth to toggle electronic and mechanical locks simultaneously — no key required. GPS and Apple Find My provide two independent location layers. If the bike is tampered with, you can trigger a remote alarm from the app and report it as lost, which fully bricks the bike's electronic functions while transmitting real-time location. For a machine at this price point, that level of built-in protection matters.

FAQ

What is the difference between the single and dual battery configurations?

This is the most important question to answer before buying. The single battery runs at 3,000W peak with 120Nm of torque and offers up to 56 miles of range. The dual battery doubles both the power and the torque — 6,000W peak and 175Nm — while extending range to 112 miles. The dual also adds about 27 lbs of weight, bringing the bike to roughly 165 lbs total. If you're a daily rider covering longer distances or want maximum performance, the dual is the configuration to choose. If you're riding shorter routes or want a slightly lighter and less expensive bike to start, the single is still a high-output machine. Our team can help you work through which fits your riding.

Can I add a second battery later if I buy the single?

The battery system is modular and designed to support a second unit. That said, we recommend confirming current availability and pricing for the second battery at the time of purchase. The manufacturer also recommends that the second battery be professionally installed by an authorized. Come in-store and we can walk you through the add-on process.

How does the speed work?

The Xyber ships with a 20 mph app-enforced speed limit. The bike is capable of 35 mph in its off-road configuration, which can be accessed through the Segway app. If you're unsure where you plan to ride it, stop by the showroom and we'll help you figure out what makes sense.

Can I test ride the Xyber before buying?

Yes. Come into our Chelsea showroom any day of the week — walk-ins are welcome. At 138–165 lbs, the Xyber has real weight and real power, and getting comfortable with it before committing is worth the trip. Our team will walk you through it.

What does AirLock mean and how does the security system work?

AirLock is Segway's keyless locking system. When your phone is within Bluetooth range, it toggles both an electronic lock and a mechanical lock simultaneously — no key, no fob. Beyond AirLock, the Xyber has GPS tracking and Apple Find My built in, providing two independent location layers. If the bike is tampered with, you can trigger a remote alarm through the Segway app and report it as lost, which bricks the bike's electronics while transmitting its location in real time. After the first year, some of these smart features require a Segway Smart Services subscription at $19.95/year.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Financing is available through Klarna, Affirm, and PayPal at checkout. Select your preferred option to see available payment plans and terms.
