This is the same charger supplied with the bike, and the right replacement if the original was lost, damaged, or has stopped charging correctly. Also a sensible second charger to leave at the office so you aren't carrying one back and forth.
Worth replacing when the charger runs hot, the indicator light doesn't change state, charging stops partway through a cycle, or the connector has become loose or intermittent. A failing charger is regularly mistaken for a failing battery — check the charger first, it's the far cheaper part.
Segway chargers handle the communication handshake these bikes expect from the battery management system. Aftermarket units matched only on voltage don't always negotiate correctly, which is where charging faults and shortened pack life tend to begin.
