Nearly every e-bike in this price range is welded aluminum, which is lighter and cheaper to produce. Chromoly is heavier and costs more, but it fatigues differently — it bends before it fails, it can be repaired by any competent welder, and it doesn't develop the stress cracks that plague aluminum frames carrying 75+ lbs of bike and 200 lbs of rider over potholes. If you're riding NYC streets daily, the frame material is the spec that determines whether the bike is still solid in year five.

At 52V 20Ah, the Zooper carries 1,040Wh — substantially more capacity than most bikes in the compact fat-tire category, and it's the reason a bike this heavy still covers real distance. Zooz rates it at 20 to 30 miles on throttle alone, with pedaling extending that. The pack uses 21700 cells and mounts on a proprietary co-molded metal plate with a spring-loaded locking pin, which is meaningfully more secure than the plastic rail systems common at this price. Charge time is around five hours.

The double-shoulder fork uses adjustable air with spring dampening, which means you set it to your weight and riding style instead of accepting whatever the factory picked. Most e-bikes at this price ship a basic coil fork that bottoms out under a heavy rider and does very little on small bumps. The rear is rigid — worth knowing going in — but the combination of a tunable front fork and 4" tires covers most of what New York pavement throws at you.
